My WRAP Plan

Many of the sessions at My Voice Media Center center are in the arts. We have visual art sessions, like Drawing, music, like Guitar, and other sessions like Art of Movement, focusing on breathing, poses, and movement of the body. We also offer support sessions like the No Stigma Speaker's Bureau and Peer Support. Peer Support is run by our very own certified Peer Support Specialist, Olivia.

What do Peer Support and WRAP mean?

Peer support is where participants can come in and have some one-on-one time with our peer support specialist Olivia. It's a safe place where they can vent, and talk about how their week is going, And any feelings they might be having good or bad. Sometimes we do what is called a WRAP plan which stands for Wellness and Recovery Action Plan. It is a really good tool to have when working on your Wellness. WRAP helps to learn about your triggers and, helps you create a plan when you start to feel overwhelmed by symptoms and negative thoughts. The WRAP plan Is very Helpful and can keep you out of crisis.

Who can get Peer Support?

Peer Support is available to any of our participants. You can also get peer support at other locations involved in Mental Health, like the Visalia Wellness Center. Peer support Specialists have been trained to be good listeners. We do not tell our participants what they should do, we help them look at their options and encourage them to continue to work on their wellness and recovery.

When is the best time to schedule a session?

If you would like to come to the My Voice Media Center and do Peer Support please call or come by at least a day in advance. We have Peer support every Wednesday and Thursday from 2:00-3:00

Peers receive Peer Support to learn more about the tools needed to stay on their path of wellness and recovery. Many peers receive peer support for the companionship, the company, and the overall wellness achieved in individual and group sessions.
