The Museum trip is worth celebrating through art and photography. My Voice Media Center encourages participants to sketch, take photos, and make videos of the field trip for self-expression. The need for self-expression in and of the arts is a great way to practice wellness and recovery.
ABSTRACT ART EXPERIENCE
Among the experiences that were had at the LACMA, particpants and staff had a conversation about abstract art and learned a little bit about themselves and each other in the process.
As we seek to learn more about ourselves we can use art as a means for self-expression. The tools we use for art and expression work like those in our Mental Health toolboxes.
When we practice both sets of tools, while sometimes even putting them together, we use art to continue our wellness and recovery.
