July 2025 - Bold Expressions

Thank you to everyone who helped make June so vibrant and full of growth. As summer sets in and the heat rises, we're turning up the creativity, too. We've got new projects, fresh ideas, and cool air to keep you comfortable while you create.

This month's theme is Bold Expression, and our color-of-the-month is Crimson Red. It's all about speaking your truth, standing strong in who you are, and using art to let your voice be seen and heard.

Featured Session: Printmaking (Fridays 12-2)

In our printmaking session, you'll learn how to carve your own designs into wood or linoleum blocks and turn them into bold, one-of-a-kind prints.

Facilitator Eduardo Isaola guides you through each step, from sketching your idea to carving and inking your block. Whether you're brand new or returning with experience, this hands-on session is a fun way to slow down, focus, and create something truly unique.

At-Home Activity: Leaf Printing

Bring a little nature into your art with this easy and relaxing printmaking activity. Here's what you'll need:

• A few leaves from your yard or neighborhood (look for interesting shapes and textures)

• Washable paint

• A brush or sponge

• Paper, cardstock, or fabric

Gently brush paint onto the back side of a leaf, then press it firmly onto your paper. Carefully lift it to reveal the print. Try different colors, layering effects, or combining multiple leaf types. It's a simple way to create bold, organic prints and explore the textures of the world around you.

Enjoy a refreshing treat and a fun hands-on activity! My Voice Media Center will be providing FREE ice cream cones while supplies last. We hope to see you there!
