Hello from everyone at the MVMC!

February is here, and we're excited for a month full of Creative Compassion. This is a time to slow down a little, lead with kindness, and use creativity as a way to care for ourselves and each other. The cozy softness of Rose Quartz makes it a perfect color-of-the-month to explore these themes.

Session Spotlight: Art & Feelings

This month, we're highlighting Art & Feelings, a space where creativity meets emotional awareness. In these sessions, participants explore simple art techniques while practicing skills like tuning into our emotions and finding healthy ways to express what is happening inside. This session is all about using color, shape, and imagery to better understand yourself and connect with others in a supportive, low-pressure environment. And it's great for artists of all skill levels!

At-Home Activity

Try this simple activity at home with paper and any drawing supplies you have:

  1. Draw a large heart (or several small ones)

  2. Inside each heart, write or draw something you appreciate about yourself, someone you care about, or a moment that brought you comfort.

  3. Add colors, patterns, or words that feel gentle and encouraging.

You can keep your hearts somewhere visible as a reminder that compassion starts with noticing the good, even on hard days.
